Sealing for Protection

Applying a high-quality sealer helps protect your slab from moisture, stains, and wear. We recommend sealing your concrete 30 days after installation to allow for proper curing. Depending on usage and exposure, resealing every 2–3 years helps maintain its durability and appearance.

Understanding Cracks

Hairline cracks are a natural part of concrete’s curing process and do not affect structural integrity. Larger cracks can develop over time due to temperature changes, ground movement, or heavy loads. While most are cosmetic, sealing them early can prevent moisture intrusion and further expansion.

Color Evolution

Your concrete may appear darker or lighter over time. Variations in shading are normal due to curing, weather exposure, and sealant absorption. If uniformity is a concern, regular sealing and proper maintenance can help preserve a consistent look.

Preventing Surface Damage

  • Avoid heavy loads for the first 7 days to allow initial curing. Full strength is reached at 28 days.

  • Use caution with de-icing salts in winter, as they can cause surface damage. Sand is a safer alternative.

  • Clean spills promptly to prevent stains, especially from oil, grease, and acidic substances.
